Chestertons Polo in the Park is a hugely popular event that takes place each summer in West London. A day of polo, pimms and (fingers crossed!) sunshine. Located just down the road from Hair @ 261 in the prestigious Hurlingham Park, there is no better way to spend a summer’s day with friends.
Things to keep in mind when deciding what to wear to Polo in the Park:
1) The weather
When deciding what to wear to Polo in the Park you need to keep the weather forecast in mind. At the start of June we certainly hope for sunshine and warm breezes, however knowing the English weather you cannot be too careful! One minute there may be glorious sunshine and the next you are soaked by rain showers, so it is best to plan your attire with some versatile options in mind!
2) Summer colours
Walking through Hurlingham Park during Polo In The Park you are surrounded by ladies and gentlemen dressed to impress in stylish summer day wear. For the ladies, this event marks a day to bring out your chicest summer dresses or a long floaty maxi dress. With the winter finally over this is the day to ditch those black and dark colours and opt for something bright and light!
Wedges, thicker heels or flats are definitely the best footwear to save you from sinking in to the turf! Our neighbours ‘Katie&Jo’ offer a stunning array of womenswear, shoes and accessories, including gorgeous summer dresses and sandals that are perfect for a day at the polo!
Gentlemen tend to opt for chinos and a smart collared shirt. Pair this with a smart jacket, loafers and sunnies and the only thing you’re missing is the glass of pimms! If you are opting to be fully prepared you may wish to take a walking umbrella. Over the last couple of years we have been lucky enough to have bright sunshine but rest assured many of the enclosures and bar areas have canopies should the showers hit!
4) Hair & Nails
Once your outfit is chosen it’s time to complete your look, and here’s where we come in! Keep it sophisticated with a classic blow dry or branch out and try one of spring/summer’s key hair trends. These include beach waves - for long or short hair lengths this natural bouncy style will bring a stylish summer element to your overall look. For a more boho vibe why not opt for chic braids? From fishtails to waterfalls we have seen braids all over the festival and events scene already this year, making for an easy way to add something special to your polo look.
When it comes to nails you’ll want to match these with your outfit - a vibrant colour or summery pastel tones to perfectly compliment your overall look! We are loving two-tone manicures at the moment, which are sure to catch the eye of onlookers whilst you sip on a pimms!
For this year’s polo we are offering an exclusive ‘Pre Polo Pamper Deal’ to include a bouncy blow dry, fresh manicure and of course, pimms! Join us to get glammed up and ready for the day with this package deal at only £50. This deal will run for the full week of Polo In The Park - 3-8th June.
